Catholic schools serve as spiritual extensions of the home and provide broader faith communities that enrich and support parish life.
The Allen, Frisco, and McKinney region has a rapidly growing population of young families. It is home to more than 67,000 children ages 0-4 and more than 157,000 children ages 5-14. Within our five supporting parishes alone, over 21,000 faithful families are registered and 3,390 students in grades K-8 are enrolled in religious education. The 3 city area has seen a 125% population growth over the last twenty years.
Despite this vibrant, faith-filled, rapidly growing community, there is no Catholic grade school in central Collin County to provide a fully integrated experience where faith, academics, and community are interwoven daily. We have a significant opportunity to offer children in our region a formation that is both deeply rooted in Catholic identity and committed to academic excellence—nurturing not only minds, but hearts and souls.

My wife Nancy and I have always been passionate about our responsibility to be advocates for Catholic Education. We are true believers in integrating our Catholic Faith with an exceptional education that promotes values and community service. Nancy was a teacher at Mary Immaculate and we have seen the incredible benefits of Catholic Schools for our children and now grandchildren. What a blessing it is to know that Catholic Education is on the horizon in Frisco and Collin County! I cannot think of anything more important in today’s relativistic culture than the formation of young hearts and minds in the values of the Gospel. Catholic education has never been primarily about job training but rather a sincere search for wisdom and virtue. I am thrilled to know that in the heart of one of the fastest growing areas of the country the Mother Theresa Catholic School will be about the great work of forming saints and scholars who will bring about a transformative impact on the culture and the world.
Collin County has grown so much, and we know that there needs to be a Catholic school. There’s a calling for that and that’s why we want to come together and have this opportunity for our students.
In communion with our Bishop, we are one body the church, So these 5 parishes St. Michael, St. Gabriel’s, St. Jude, Our Lady of Angels and St. Francis, with all the other parishes in the diocese, we are one body carrying out a common goal which is the proclamation of the gospel and falling in love with Jesus Christ in this area.
Helping them see how math, music or theater ultimately can flow from the glory of God, and give glory to God, and help them see how their professional lives ultimately are founded. To what God has done for them, keeping God in communication, and really illuminating every aspect of their lives is something a Catholic school can and should accomplish.
Faith-based education will help the new generation, their formation and their character building in so many different ways. The seeds of today will be the flowers of tomorrow so forming these children will be very crucial.
A regional model is a beautiful way to transform parish life. We celebrate our Catholic faith in every subject area, we celebrate liturgy together, and we have the blessing of the clergy from all the parishes that participate in the lives of these children. Our children will see all our priests, who love their faith, and that’s truly a gift.
